Nick Lyons, CFP® joined The Goff Financial Group in 2015, working directly with clients to prepare and plan for retirement and other financial goals. In addition to financial planning, he works with clients to review their investment portfolios and to implement necessary changes moving forward.

Growing up in Southwest Houston, he attended Lamar High School, where he played football and raised animals as a member of the FFA (Future Farmers of America). After high school, Nick enrolled in the United States Army Reserve and was honorably discharged after serving in military intelligence for nearly eight years. While in the Army, he embarked on his business career by attending the University of Houston-Downtown, graduating with a degree in finance.

His credentials include a Series 65 license after passing the Uniform Investment Advisor Law Examination, the completion of the Certified Financial Planner^TM (CFP®) Graduate Certificate Program from Rice University’s Glasscock School of Continuing Studies, and a Certified Financial Planner^TM designation by fulfilling the rigorous standards set forth by the CFP® Board. He is also a National Association of Personal Financial Advisors (NAPFA) member and previously served on the Houston Financial Planning Association Board of Directors.

Nick and his wife Jennifer married in 2017. They happily reside in Houston, TX, where they raise their two sons, Wesley and Carson. In his spare time, Nick enjoys playing golf, strumming the guitar, and visiting state and national parks.
